• Database triggers are live for all! If you store derived events in your own database, such as an Abandoned Cart or Refund, you can choose to run triggered marketing campaigns off of these events directly from your database. This way, even if you refresh your own database at a frequent cadence, you can still send relevant and up to date messages beginning with a Complex Events Processor Trigger dataset and then a flow. To get set up with database triggers, contact your account manager.

• The Data Dictionary is now available in segment criteria in Beta! Simon empowers your team to leverage tons of data to create powerful segments and content. With the amount of data available, it can be difficult to keep track of what these data are and where they came from. That’s where data dictionaries come in. With the current Data Dictionary you can:
  • View field descriptions and details
  • View contact object and event details
  • Insert fields into segment criteria after you've viewed their descriptions

🔨 Improved

• Action Panel updates now available to all: You can now explicitly flag specific datasets as skippable to keep them from holding up your pipe. If a dataset is not flagged as skippable but is not used within your account and there’s been at least one successful pipe run (data refresh), the dataset is implicitly skippable to keep your campaigns going.

• In the Dataset view, the rules tab is now called the settings tab:

• We've also made some changes to Contact Events Datasets and Contact Object Datasets to give you control over your extract schedule!

  • We moved created, updated ts, and record ID from the Fields tab to the new settings tab under Extract Schedule.
  • We added extract type configurations to the UI.
  • For contact events, we moved Use from the fields tab to the new settings tab and added two additional configurations: Dataset Category and Unified Contact View Display Field.

• Dataset Lineage is now available at the dataset level. It shows pipe dependencies within Simon for Contact Data, Data Lake, and Simon Warehouse purpose datasets specifically using the Simon Snowflake integration.

• Segment Prioritization Lists is the new name for what was formerly known as Segment Suppression. Use this Beta feature to avoid sending multiple messages to the same contact.

• A BCC option is now available for SendGrid sends! With the BCC option, you can configure a flow or journey to send a copy of the outgoing messages to an internal BCC address. Available addresses are pre-configured by an account admin and if none have been set up, the option won't display in the builder. These messages count toward the messages send volume in SendGrid.

• You can now bypass SendGrid subscription preferences in channel actions. This option should only be used for transactional messages. SendGrid still includes an unsubscribe link, however unsubscribed users will also receive the message.

Removed 🗄️

• Flow Index and Metrics have been deprecated. You can use the Flow Details Page to report on these items.
